Virtual timeline

time-lineThis requires lots of space! If the topic you are teaching is suitable, separate the content out into things that happen at the start, things that happen in the middle and things that happen at the end. Produce cards with snippets of the event on. Give each student a card and tell them that they need to put themselves into the correct order so that the snippets flow in seqence from the start to the end with all the middle bits in order. Ask students to read out their snippets and then get them to rearrange themselves until they are all happy. You check that the sequence is correct. Students may then make their own paper copy of the timeline for their notes.
